The Blessing Box was a ministry idea born out of our Tuesday evening Adult Grow Group, brought to fruition. The Blessing Box at Witcher Baptist Church is a ministry that seeks to meet the physical needs of those in our community, with the ultimate goal of leading them to spiritual fulfillment. The Blessing Box is a free resource that is open to anyone in need, and operates on the principle of "God gave freely, so we freely give. Take what you need." It is stocked with non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and other basic necessities that can help alleviate the burden of those who are struggling.
At Witcher Baptist Church, we believe that giving to the Blessing Box is an act of faith that is rooted in biblical teachings. In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus teaches us that we are to care for those who are in need, saying, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." By giving to the Blessing Box, we are fulfilling this biblical mandate to care for those who are struggling. We encourage members of our congregation and community to donate items to the Blessing Box as they are able. Suggested items include canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, toiletries (such as soap, toothpaste, and toilet paper), and other non-perishable items that can help meet basic needs. By donating these items, we can work together to make a real difference in the lives of those around us. Donating Bibles (new or good condition) to the Blessing Box at Witcher Baptist Church is also a wonderful way to support this ministry and help meet the spiritual needs of those in our community. In addition to providing physical necessities, we believe that it is important to offer resources that can help guide individuals towards spiritual fulfillment and growth. The Blessing Box at Witcher Baptist Church is a tangible expression of our faith in action. It is a reminder that we are all in this together, and that by working together, we can help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our community. The blessing box is located in front of our church located at 2206 E. DuPont Ave, Belle, WV 25015.
