What Are Grow Groups?
“Grow groups,” also known as small groups or community groups, are a small gathering of people who come together regularly (typically weekly) to build relationships, study the Bible, and grow spiritually. These groups typically consist of 6 to 12 people and meet at the church building or other locations. The purpose of our Grow groups is to create a more intimate and supportive setting where people can connect with each other on a deeper level and grow in their faith.
Why Join A Group? One key benefit of grow groups is the opportunity for people to build meaningful relationships within the larger church family. In a smaller, more intimate setting, people can share their life experiences, struggles, and victories with one another. They can pray for each other, encourage each other, and provide support during challenging times.
Another blessing of grow groups is the opportunity for members to grow in their faith. Group participants engage in Bible studies and spiritual discussions focused around specific topics or themes. These discussions help members to deepen their understanding of who God is, who they are and how they can live out the will of God in their lives. Grow groups also provide opportunities to serve others and engage in outreach efforts. Members are encouraged to participate in service projects, volunteer at local organizations, or organize events to reach out to their community. These activities help members to put their faith into action and make a positive impact in the lives of others. Who Are The Leaders/Teachers?
All of our grow group leaders are active members of Witcher who demonstrate a love for Jesus, growing spiritual maturity, and desire to continually grow in Biblical understanding. Grow group leaders are selected yearly and confirmed by the entire church body as demonstrating these characteristics. Our children’s volunteers and teachers are also required to be certified in Stewards of Children which is a sexual abuse prevention class offered by Darkness to Light. What Should I Expect?
At your first grow group meeting, you can expect to meet other members of the group, participate in icebreakers and introductions, discuss the purpose and goals of the group, learn about the format and frequency of group gatherings, and engage in a lesson. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, with an emphasis on building relationships and growing in faith together.

How Long Do Groups Last? Our Grow group schedule starts in September and runs through May. This “school-year schedule” is broken up into smaller 4-8 week studies. A person can participate for the full year, or join and exit based on each shorter study session based on what works for their schedule.
